Learn how to set up and run futures backtesting sessions on FX Replay, including asset selection, order placement (Market and Limit orders), sizing guidelines, and available historical data from indices and commodities.

Overview

FX Replay allows you to trade and replay a wide range of futures assets in a realistic market environment. This feature is designed to help you practice, backtest, and refine your trading strategies using high-quality historical data.

Note: Futures trading is available exclusively on the Pro plan. If you're on the Intermediate plan or lower, futures assets will not be accessible.

Assets you'll be able to use:

  • S&P 500 - Jan 3, 2012
  • Nasdaq 100 - Jan 3, 2012
  • Dow Futures - Jan 3, 2012
  • Russel 2000 - Jan 3, 2012
  • Crude Oil WTI - Jan 3, 2012

How to create a Futures Backtesting Session?

  1. Navigate to <https://fxreplay.com/>and sign in.
  2. Select “Create session” on your dashboard and fill in the required fields:
    1. Start by selecting an account balance.
    2. Select the asset(s) you want to test in the session. You can have up to 5.
    3. The rest of the fields are optional.
  3. Once the required fields are selected, you can save and enter the session.

Placing an OrderThere are 2 ways you can place an order:

  1. Quick Market Order

  1. Limit Order / Market Order using the Projection tool.
  2. Select a projection tool (long or short).
  3. Place the tool on your chart and adjust the Stop Loss / Take Profit Levels.
  4. Click on “Place Order”
  5. The feilds should autopopulate.
  6. Click save and execute.
  7. Select Type: Market or Limit.
  8. Click Save

Sizing1 Contract = 1 mini
