How to Delete Trades and Sessions in the Journal
Learn how to delete trades and sessions in the Backtesting Journal and Live Journal, and what to do if you accidentally delete something.
Backtesting Journal
Can I delete individual trades?
Individual trades in the Backtesting Journal cannot be deleted on their own. Trades are tied to the session they were placed in — to remove trades, you need to delete the entire session.
How to delete a session
- Go to Testing → Sessions
- Select the session you want to delete from the dropdown at the top
- Click the red Delete session button in the top right
- Confirm the deletion
This is permanent. Deleting a session removes all trades, stats, and analytics associated with it. This cannot be undone.
I just want to make changes to my session, not delete it
Use Session Settings instead — you can edit the session name, strategy, starting balance, assets, spreads, commissions, and date range without losing any data.
Live Journal
How to delete a trade
- Open the trade you want to delete (trade detail view)
- Select Delete
- Confirm
Deleted trades cannot be recovered from within the journal. If your broker account is still connected, triggering a re-sync may restore the trade. If not, contact support.
